Product recommendations
Some rink and region pages include affiliate links to useful skating accessories. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Following a product link takes you to Amazon, which applies its own privacy and tracking policies. We do not receive your Amazon account, identity, payment details or individual order history.
We count recommendation views and clicks in aggregate by product, date and page type. Session storage avoids repeat counts in the same browser session, and this measurement respects your browser’s Do Not Track setting. A daily hash of the connection address is used temporarily to limit abusive requests. Amazon earnings reports are imported separately and do not identify individual visitors.
The short version
You can browse EveryRink without an account. Optional features, including saved skating plans and change alerts, store the information needed to provide them. We do not sell your personal information, your saved plans or your precise location.
Location
If you grant location permission, your coordinates are used on your device for distance estimates and departure reminders. When road routing is available, choosing “Calculate road times” sends your starting coordinates and rink destinations through our Cloudflare Worker to Google Maps. EveryRink does not store those coordinates. The routing button explains this before you choose it. Standard browser and hosting request metadata may still be processed by the services handling the request.
On the home page, we use the approximate area of your connection, which our host Cloudflare provides with each request, to suggest skating near you; it is used only to pick that nearby city, and it is not stored or logged.
You can revoke location access at any time in your device settings, or clear the saved location from inside the app’s settings menu.
What we store on your device
- The list of rinks you’ve enabled in settings
- The event you’ve pinned (if any)
- A 90-day rolling cache of past event data, used to predict how full upcoming sessions will be
- Snapshots of registration counts you’ve seen, so the predictions get better over time
- Your language choice, if you pick one
- A “do not count” marker, if you choose Stop counting my visits
All of this lives in localStorage on your device. None of it is uploaded anywhere, with one exception: your language choice is also kept in a first-party cookie named er_locale, so our server can show you pages in that language. It contains only the language code and expires after a year.
My ice, calendar subscriptions and alerts
When you save a skate, EveryRink stores the selected public session details, changes to those details, and a random plan identifier on our Cloudflare database. Your browser keeps the access token and a local copy. No name or email address is needed. A plan expires six months after your last saved session. Use “Delete my plan” in My ice to remove it and revoke its calendar and alerts.
A calendar subscription has a separate, read-only secret link. Anyone with that link can view your saved skating sessions. “Revoke and replace link” invalidates the old link. Your calendar provider receives the session details when it fetches the subscription.
If you enable change alerts, we store your browser’s push subscription endpoint and encryption keys. Encrypted notifications are sent through your browser’s push service (such as Apple, Google or Mozilla). Turn alerts off in My ice or your browser settings. Undelivered change messages are removed after one day.
Finder preferences, your chosen starting region and compact view setting are stored on your device. Exact location is not included in a saved skating plan.
Photos, corrections and missing rinks
If you choose to contribute, we store your rink name, submission text, optional contact details and photo credit in our private review inbox. A daily hash derived from your IP address helps limit spam. Do not include private information about other people in your submission.
Before upload, photos are resized and converted to JPEG in your browser. Embedded metadata, including GPS information, and original filenames are removed. Up to three photos can be submitted at once. Uploaded review copies expire after 90 days. Submission records remain in the review inbox unless removed. Suitable photos may be published on EveryRink after review and your declared permission, with the credit you provide. Published copies remain until removed; contact us to request removal or correction.
Talking with EveryRink
If you leave an email address with a suggestion, correction or photo contribution, we may reply about it. You can also contact [email protected] directly. Messages and related requests are kept in our private support dashboard so we can follow the conversation. Automated tools help organize messages and write replies. An answer to a question you send us may be written and sent by an automated assistant without a person reading it first; other messages are reviewed by the owner before they go out. We do not add email open-tracking pixels or tracking links.
For rink staff: claiming a rink, the rink panel and the embed
If you work at a rink and ask to keep its listing up to date, we ask for your work email address, your name and, if you wish, your job title. We email you a one-time sign-in link that works for 30 minutes; there is no password. We keep those details, the rink you asked for, whether your email address is on the rink’s own website domain, any kit code you gave, and the changes you propose with the time of each. One cookie (__Host-er_rink) keeps you signed in for up to 30 days; it is needed for the sign-in and used for nothing else. The claim and rink panel pages send no page views or error reports and load no session replay. Your name and email address are never published: only the times, prices, notice and contact details you enter for the rink appear on its page, after we approve them. The owner and the people who review rink changes can see who proposed a change. We use these details to give you access and to know who is editing a listing (in Europe and the United Kingdom: steps taken at your request and our legitimate interest in keeping listings accurate). We keep them while your access is open; write to [email protected] to close it and have your name and email address removed.
A kit code or QR code from a card we mailed to a rink: when it is scanned we add one to that code’s count for the day. No IP address, browser details, cookie or visitor code is kept. The schedule embed a rink can place on its own website sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device; loading it is a request to our servers like any page load.
What our servers do
We run a small Cloudflare Worker that proxies and caches public event data from:
- Ford Ice Center (Predators DaySmart Recreation API)
- Nashville Warriors / Gary Force Acura (DaySmart Recreation API)
- Centennial Sportsplex (DaySmart and Nashville Skating Academy listings)
- Public schedules from the other rinks in our national directory
- Metro Nashville Public Schools holiday calendar
- U.S. federal holidays (date.nager.at)
We collect basic first-party usage counts and error reports to maintain the site. A page-view record includes the path, referring hostname, device category and country, plus two codes computed from the connection address and browser identification with a secret key: one that changes every day and one that changes every 30 days. They let us count visits, and returning visits within a 30-day window; they cannot be linked from one window to the next. Raw IP addresses and browser user-agent strings are not stored in page-view records.
Pages for Quebec, whose rules require measurement that can identify a person to be off by default, for Mexico, and for France, Ireland and the other European Union countries we cover do not send page views, feature counts or error reports from your browser at all. We keep an anonymous count of page loads on our server: the page, the country your request came from, the site that linked to you, the time, and whether the request looked automated. Your browser sends nothing extra, for this count nothing is stored on or read from your device, no visitor code is created, and your IP address and browser details are not kept in it. On the site’s other pages, a request from the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland is counted on our server in the same way, and when your device is set to a time zone in those countries your browser sends us no page views, feature counts or error reports. If your device is set to another time zone, your browser still sends the page view described above; when it reaches us from one of those countries we discard it without recording it. The server sees a page only when it is loaded, so this counts page loads, not what you do inside the site. Page-view and page-load records are deleted after 13 months.
When you follow a booking or rink link, we count the click by rink, session type and destination site. Click records carry no visitor identifier. Limited, expiring request counters help prevent abuse of planner and routing endpoints.
Third parties
Seeing how pages are used (United States and Canada outside Quebec). On these pages we use Microsoft Clarity to see how the site is used: which parts of a page people scroll to, tap and click, shown to us as heatmaps and replays of visits. Clarity sets cookies and receives your device and browser details, your approximate location from your connection, and what you do on the page. We use it to find and fix confusing pages. Microsoft also uses this data for its own purposes, including advertising, as the Microsoft Privacy Statement describes. Clarity is not loaded on pages for Quebec, Mexico, the United Kingdom or Europe, or in a browser set to a time zone outside the United States and Canada. Choosing “Stop counting my visits” below also keeps Clarity from loading on your device.
Map tiles are loaded from CARTO’s public basemap CDN. CARTO receives standard HTTP request information when you view the map (your IP address, browser user agent). We don’t share anything with them ourselves. Visitors whose device is set to a time zone in the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland are the exception: their map tiles are loaded through our own domain, and CARTO receives nothing from them. Page fonts are served from our own host; no font request goes to Google or any other font service.
Sign-up links open the rinks’ own registration pages. Once you click through, you’re on their site and their privacy policy applies.
Rink address maps are embedded from Google Maps. When that map loads, Google receives the rink location query and standard browser request information, and may process cookies under its own privacy policy. These maps do not send your device’s precise location. On pages for Quebec and Mexico, we show a directions link instead of the embedded map. Google’s privacy policy applies to its map service.
Where your information is processed
EveryRink is run from the United States. Our servers and database are provided by Cloudflare, which operates worldwide, so information described in this policy may be stored or processed outside your province, state or country, including in the United States. It is then subject to the laws of those places.
Your rights and choices
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to [email protected]. We answer within 30 days. Most of what EveryRink uses stays on your device, and you can remove it by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
Stop counting my visits. You can object to the page-view counting described under “What our servers do”, free of charge and at any time: This keeps one marker in this browser’s storage that says “do not count”; from then on this browser sends us no page views, no feature counts and no error reports. Choose the button again, or clear this site’s data, to undo it. It applies to this browser only. If your device is set to a time zone in the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland, or you are on a page for Quebec, Mexico or one of the European Union countries we cover, the marker is not read, because your browser sends us nothing there anyway. The anonymous count of page loads on our server does not use the marker and continues: it holds nothing that could recognise you.
Canada. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
France and the European Union. For visitors in France, the controller is the publisher of EveryRink, described in our legal notice (mentions légales) and reachable at [email protected].

We have not appointed a representative in the European Union, because our processing is occasional and unlikely to result in a risk to people’s rights and freedoms (Article 27(2)(a) GDPR). On Luxembourg rink pages your browser sends us no page views, feature counts or error reports, and we use no click counting, no forms, no saved plans and no embedded Google maps. A request from Luxembourg for any other page of the site (the home page and the directory, for example) is counted on our server in the same way. Our fonts are served from our own host, not from Google. Our host (Cloudflare) receives your IP address and browser details when your browser loads a page, as the providers of any website do. When your device is set to a time zone in the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland (read on your device, not sent or stored), the map tiles are loaded through our own domain and the map tile service (CARTO) does not receive your IP address or browser details; with any other time zone, your browser loads them from CARTO directly. We rely on our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in offering a free and secure schedule site; these providers may process that data in the United States. You have the right to access, correct or erase your data, to object to its processing and to restrict it; write to [email protected] and we will answer within one month. You can lodge a complaint with the Luxembourg National Commission for Data Protection (Commission nationale pour la protection des données, CNPD). Before we switch on any other feature that collects data on Luxembourg pages, we will update this section and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent.
Switzerland. For visitors in Switzerland, the controller is the publisher of EveryRink, reachable at [email protected]. Switzerland is not in the European Union: the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP, in force since 1 September 2023) applies, not the GDPR. We have not appointed a representative in Switzerland, because that duty (Article 14 FADP) applies only to processing that is large-scale, regular and of high risk to the people concerned, and ours is not of high risk. On Swiss rink pages your browser sends us no page views, feature counts or error reports, and we use no click counting, no forms, no saved plans and no embedded Google maps. A request from Switzerland for any other page of the site (the home page and the directory, for example) is counted on our server in the same way. We process this data only to deliver and secure a free schedule site, and keep no more of it than that needs. Our host and the map tile service may process data in the United States and in other countries where they run their services. You have the right to ask whether we process personal data about you and to be told what it is, to have it corrected or deleted and to object to its processing (Articles 25 and 32 FADP); write to [email protected] and we will normally answer within 30 days. You can report a concern to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC). Before we switch on any other feature that collects data on Swiss pages, we will update this section and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent.
Sweden and the European Union. For visitors in Sweden, the controller is the publisher of EveryRink, reachable at [email protected]. We rely on our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in offering a free and secure schedule site; these providers may process that data in the United States. You have the right to access, correct or erase your data, to object to its processing and to restrict it; write to [email protected] and we will answer within one month. You can lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, IMY). Before we switch on any other feature that collects data on Swedish pages, we will update this section and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent.
Czech Republic and the European Union. For visitors in the Czech Republic, the controller is the publisher of EveryRink, reachable at [email protected]. We rely on our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in offering a free and secure schedule site; these providers may process that data in the United States. You have the right to access, correct or erase your data, to object to its processing and to restrict it; write to [email protected] and we will answer within one month.
