Orivesi's municipal ice hall on Opintie: free fitness, family and puck-play sessions
Currently out of season The town's page says the weekly public-skating times must be checked in the hall's booking calendar; no dated sessions are printed on the page itself. Official schedule update
Orivesi's ice hall on Opintie offers free public skating in four kinds of session: ordinary public skating without playing equipment for confident skaters, fitness skating, family skating and puck play. Fitness skating is usually held on Sundays, when the edge lane of the rink is reserved for speed and long-distance skating and the middle can be used for technique practice. It is meant for able skaters, and aids may not be brought.
Family skating, also usually on Sundays, suits beginners and lets small skaters use sledges and slalom cones, while sticks, balls and pucks are forbidden. In puck play the ice is open for free play, and a helmet is compulsory. The hall also has sauna, meeting and café facilities run by Fortuna.
