Raseborg's ice hall in Karis Sports Park, opened in 2012 after a pupils' initiative
Raseborg's ice hall opened its doors in November 2012. The idea came from a group of school pupils who managed to win the town's decision-makers over, and the hall was built as a public and private partnership. It stands in the middle of Karis Sports Park, and the railway and bus stations are about half a kilometre away, with a large car park outside.
Inside there is a flexible rink of international size, four large changing and shower rooms for teams, cafe space and a stand for more than 500 people. Hundreds of children and young people have taken their first steps in skating, ice hockey and figure skating here, and the hall also hosts team skating and ringette.
Outside the ice season the rink floor of nearly 2,000 square metres suits exhibitions, concerts and other large events. Public skating turns are listed in the hall's booking calendar, which the site points visitors to.
