A covered arena on Suzdalsky prospect that mixes public skating, hockey and a figure-skating school
Grand Canyon is an ice arena in the north of Saint Petersburg, reached on foot from Prospekt Prosveshcheniya metro station along the pedestrian path called Grand Canyon. The arena describes itself as having a long history and a cosy atmosphere.
Public skating goes counter-clockwise on a large circle, and children and parents with children may skate through the middle. If the rink fills up at 300 people, the administration may stop selling tickets. Going on the ice drunk or under the influence of drugs is forbidden. Skating helpers for beginners come in several sizes for adults and children.
Beside the main ice there is a throwing zone for practising hockey shots, a hall equipped for choreography classes, and a cafe with a varied menu for a snack after skating.
