Free skating on a covered rink in the Vyborg district, with a free skating aid for beginners
No public skating is posted for the next 7 days. New sessions show here as soon as the rink posts them.
Shans Arena is a covered ice stadium in the Vyborg district of Saint Petersburg, close to Lesnaya metro station, with its vehicle entrance from Kantemirovskaya street. The rink is a multifunctional hockey box measuring 56 by 26 metres.
Free skating means any visitor who can stand on skates may come, always counter-clockwise, and the rink asks skaters not to attempt jumps, spins or other complex figure-skating elements, and not to bring sticks or play hockey. The page recommends protecting the head, elbows and knees.
The arena supplies a free "figure skater's assistant", a toy-animal shaped support for beginners and small children, plus skate and protective-gear hire. Changing rooms are included in the ticket, and the complex says that evening sessions are not being run at present.
