A year-round ice arena beside the Tauride Garden, open since 2007
Tavrichesky Sad is a multi-purpose leisure complex in the historic centre of Saint Petersburg. It opened in 2007 and brings an all-season ice arena, a fitness area with a swimming pool and sauna, a panoramic cafe and sports halls together on one site, seven minutes from Chernyshevskaya.
The ice sheet is surrounded by a professional injury-safe board system made by the Finnish firm Raita, with polycarbonate protection above it, and the ice is resurfaced after every skating session. The main rooms are covered with a non-slip floor so that visitors can walk about in their skates.
The fitness centre has panoramic windows that look out over the Tauride Garden and onto the ice arena. Besides ice hire for teams, the complex offers mass-skating sessions by day and by night, an hour of hockey, and penguin helpers on the ice for beginners.
