The ice rink that opened American Dream

The Rink @ The Arena is the ice rink inside American Dream in East Rutherford, and it was one of the first attractions to open: on October 25, 2019, American Dream opened an ice-skating rink and a Nickelodeon Universe indoor theme park. The rink is an NHL regulation-size sheet, and after the pandemic closure American Dream announced it would reopen its amusement park, water park and ice rink on October 1, 2020.

The Arena is built to change shape. The rink is convertible to surfaces for roller hockey, basketball, arena football, boxing matches and concerts, and the venue says the floor can go from ice to turf or wood. A roller hockey game warming up on the rink was photographed there in July 2024, and the building is climate-controlled for every season.

Programs go beyond public sessions. The rink runs Learn to Skate for beginners of all ages and hosts the Dream League, an organized adult hockey league with divisions for every skill level and multiple seasons a year, along with hockey clinics and tournaments.
