Two NHL sheets in Stockholm, New Jersey, since 2004
Skylands Ice World opened in 2004 in Stockholm, New Jersey, as an 80,688-square-foot building holding two NHL-sized rinks. Today it belongs to Black Bear Sports Group, which runs it as a multi-purpose sports facility, and SportsCare Physical Therapy is among the businesses based inside the building.
Hockey sets the tone. The North Jersey Skylands Kings, a Tier II youth program, are based here, and the Lady Kings opened tryout registration for the 2025-26 season. The Skylands Miners are the rink's player-development program, led by Skylands Ice World Hockey Director Charlie Spetz with a staff of experienced coaches, while the Skylands Youth Hockey League gives players competitive games and skill work in a fun and exciting atmosphere.
Public skating, drop-ins and leagues share the two sheets, and the building also hosts trade shows. Stick & Puck sessions are among the most popular hockey events of the week, with a feel closer to a frozen pond than a league game.
