Public skating at Warinanco Sports Center: the next 7 days

Currently out of season The 2026-27 public skating season runs from October 31, 2026 to March 21, 2027, and the rink's page prints a weekly timetable. Its list of days with no session still shows last season's dates, so individual sessions are not listed yet. Official schedule update

Union County's first artificial rink

Warinanco Park, named after a prominent Lenape leader, opened in 1920, and its rink followed in 1961, billed as the first public artificial ice skating rink in Union County. Union County still owns the park, whose 205 acres stretch from Chatfield Gardens to the boathouse, the trails and the rink.

In 2016 and 2017 the rink went through a major modernization that doubled the size of the complex and turned it into a year-round venue for skating and other activities. It was renamed the Warinanco Sports Center, with a brand and logo to match the rest of the park, and it now draws nearly 50,000 visitors a year.

Alongside the public sessions, the center runs a midday adult open hockey session, and generations of local residents carry their own memories of skating here.
