Opened September 2025 on a former Sears site

Woodman's Sports and Convention Center opened in September 2025 on the site of a former Sears store in Janesville, built through a public-private partnership. The ribbon was cut on Friday, September 19, 2025, and the opening weekend brought an open house, youth hockey games and free public skating on both new sheets. Woodman's Markets, the Janesville-based supermarket chain, bought the naming rights in a 20-year deal that took effect in July 2025.

The building is a 140,000-square-foot indoor complex holding two NHL-size ice rinks. The larger, the 1,500-seat Mercyhealth Arena, is the permanent home of the Janesville Jets of the North American Hockey League and of Beloit College hockey; the second sheet is a 250-seat multi-purpose arena, and the same roof covers basketball, volleyball and pickleball courts and a 25,800-square-foot conference center. The Janesville Figure Skating Club and the Milton Redhawks also make their home here, and the hockey side runs from youth leagues up to the college teams.

The move followed several years of growth on the ice. By the time the center opened, hockey in Janesville, including women's hockey, and the Janesville Figure Skating Club had grown enough to outgrow the space they had before.
