A 500-seat, year-round indoor rink completed in 2003; home of the Bakersfield Jr. Condors
The Valley Children's Ice Center of Bakersfield was completed in 2003 as a year-round indoor rink with a regulation-size ice surface and seating for 500, along with locker rooms and a snack bar. In 2018 Valley Children's Healthcare bought the naming rights to the building for ten years, through 2028.
It serves adult, youth, high school, college and special needs hockey, along with skating lessons and open skating. The Bakersfield Jr. Condors, formerly the Bakersfield Dragons, the Kern County Knights, the Bakersfield Roughnecks of the USPHL and the Bakersfield Oilers ASHA team all call it their primary home arena.
The Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners club hockey team used the rink for practices and as a secondary home until 2022, when the club was dropped. The Bakersfield Condors held preseason training and occasional practices here until 2016, when preseason training moved to Dignity Health Arena; they still practice at the rink when that arena hosts other events.
