A 101,000-square-foot, two-rink complex run by an all-volunteer nonprofit next to Bemidji High School
The Bemidji Community Arena is owned and run by the Bemidji Community Arena Corporation, an all-volunteer 501(c)(3). The 101,000-square-foot complex is home ice for the Bemidji Youth Hockey Association and the Bemidji Lumberjacks boys' and girls' high school teams, and it sits next to Bemidji High School.
Its First National Arena seats about 1,900 and hosts the high school's boys' and girls' games, with warm upper seating, a mezzanine and heated bleachers. The Sanford Health Rink opened in the fall of 2020, also houses Sanford Sports services and streams on LiveBarn.
Beyond hockey, the complex runs open skate, figure skating and community leagues, and its concession stand is open from late October through mid-March. Its sister rink, Nymore Gardens, is a classic venue that opened for the Lumberjacks in the 1973-74 season.
