Renamed from Pepsi Ice Center in 2019

The Bloomington Ice Center is the city's indoor public rink, run by the Parks & Recreation Department. It carried the Pepsi name until that naming-rights deal expired in 2016; in July 2019 the city renamed it the Bloomington Ice Center and named the rink after Joe Olson, the father of Bloomington-Normal hockey. The building shares a roof and cooling plant with Grossinger Motors Arena but is a separate facility under a different city department.

A narrow ring around the ice leaves little room for stands: there are bleachers at one end and standing room along the edges. Curling leagues share the ice with hockey and figure skating. The ISU Women's Hockey Club, founded in 2016, plays home games here and at Grossinger Motors Arena, and the Central Illinois Figure Skating Club trains its competitive skaters here. By 2019 the hockey community Olson built included the Bloomington Youth Hockey Association and the Central Illinois Sled Hockey Association; in summer 2023 the Central Illinois Courage joined them for players with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

In November 2022 the city council moved forward with replacing the corroding heating and cooling units shared with the arena. By July 2026, with hockey booming in Bloomington-Normal, the center was at capacity, running 18 hours a day, seven days a week in its prime season.
