Brighton's 2016 arena, practice home of the Boston Bruins, marked by the world's third-largest hockey stick.
Warrior Ice Arena in Brighton broke ground in December 2014 and held its grand opening on September 8, 2016. It is named for Warrior Sports, the brand New Balance uses for its hockey products.
It became the practice facility of the Boston Bruins, who moved in from Ristuccia Ice Arena in Wilmington, and was the home arena of the Boston Pride of the Premier Hockey Federation, who came from Harvard's Bright-Landry Hockey Center. Bruins practices here are free and open to the public.
The 200-by-85-foot rink seats more than 500 for college, high school, youth and amateur hockey. Outside stands the world's third-largest hockey stick, a 68-foot, 7,000-pound steel stick built by Diamond Iron Works of Lawrence and visible from Guest Street and the Massachusetts Turnpike. The rink is also home to the Bruins Alumni, the Boston Junior Eagles, Brookline and Allston Brighton youth hockey, Catholic Memorial and StinkySocks hockey.
