The first Chiller, opened in 1993

Chiller Dublin opened in 1993 as the first Chiller rink, built when the Columbus Chill became the first minor league team to build, own and operate its own facility. At the time Central Ohio had this one two-rink building and a single youth hockey association of 200 players.

It became the seed of a boom. During the Chill's years, youth hockey participation grew from 150 to more than 1,300 kids and nine high school programs formed, and the Chiller company that started here grew to ten indoor rinks at six locations, now owned and operated by JMAC, majority owner of the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Dublin was completely renovated in 2020 and has two NHL-size rinks, twelve locker rooms, a multipurpose room and the Ice Box concession stand. It is the home rink of the Columbus Chill Youth Hockey Association, which calls itself the largest youth hockey program in central Ohio and in the state, along with Dublin High School hockey and Hilliard Hockey.
