The Blue Jackets' rink inside Nationwide Arena

OhioHealth Ice Haus is the practice rink inside Nationwide Arena, which broke ground on May 26, 1998, and opened on September 9, 2000. A day earlier the Blue Jackets opened their first training camp at what was then the CoreComm Ice Haus, the only practice facility in the NHL housed where the team plays its games.

The 110,000-square-foot Ice Haus made Nationwide the first NHL arena with an attached on-site practice facility, and as of 2019 it was one of only four in the league, alongside Buffalo, Newark and Detroit. It is the Blue Jackets' practice home and hosts many visiting NHL teams, and team practices are open to the public, though the arena advises checking the morning of because plans can change.

The rink is also home to St. Charles and Upper Arlington high school hockey and the Ohio AAA Blue Jackets, with youth games, adult leagues and open skating, and it is run as part of the OhioHealth Chiller group owned by JMAC, the Blue Jackets' majority owner.

Parking & arrival

On non-event days, guests get limited free parking in the Nationwide Arena Garage after pulling a ticket and validating it at the Ice Haus front desk. On Nationwide Arena event days (Blue Jackets home games, concerts) that garage is closed to rink customers, who should instead use the Marconi Garage at 245 Marconi Blvd and pay the attendant $5 on entry (no validation).
