At the opening it was billed as able to host up to 1,000 skaters per session, with the bulk of the time given to public skating. A five-week skating course was announced for people who had never skated.
Its operator described it in 2008 as a year-round family attraction with programs from learn-to-skate classes to figure skating and hockey camps. The Olympic-size venue was also set to host figure skating competitions, hockey matches and live concerts.
A Zamboni resurfaces the ice every couple of hours. The rink's disco night, with real snowfall and live music from DJs, is described as its most popular session.

Admission The ticket page's list for 1 to 30 September 2026 prices a 90-minute general admission session at AED 100 on Monday to Thursday mornings and AED 125 for the other general sessions, and a Disco Night session on Friday to Sunday at AED 140.
