St. Albert's 320,000-square-foot leisure centre with three NHL-size arenas, opened September 30, 2006.
Servus Credit Union Place opened on September 30, 2006, after nearly 55% of St. Albert voters backed it in a plebiscite at the 2004 civic election. It grew around the Campbell Twin Arenas, which opened in 1992 and were folded into the new building, and today covers more than 320,000 square feet.
Its three NHL-size arenas are the Performance Arena, which seats 2,023 and was once home to the AJHL's St. Albert Steel, and the Mark Messier and Troy Murray Arenas. Messier came home on February 27, 2007 to see the arena re-dedicated in his name, while Troy Murray played 15 years in the NHL and skated for the St. Albert Saints.
The Performance Arena has hosted the 2011 Continental Cup of Curling, the 2011 Esso Cup women's midget championship and the 2012 Special Olympics Canada Winter Games. Beside the three sheets, a leisure ice is laid out like a wintry pond for families.
