A municipal rink honouring Luc Bradet and Marie-Claude Savard-Gagnon, Nagano Olympians
The Aréna Luc-et-Marie-Claude is named for Luc Bradet and Marie-Claude Savard-Gagnon, two Baie-Saint-Paul natives who skated together as a figure-skating pair for about fifteen years. They won several Canadian championship titles in the late 1990s and competed at the Nagano Olympic Games in Japan. In 2010 they were inducted into the Quebec City region's figure skating hall of fame.
The City gave the arena their name to honour a pair who inspired generations of local athletes to persevere in their sport and to pursue excellence. Today the municipal arena opens its indoor rink to the whole population and hosts the region's hockey and skating organizations for their regular activities and events. During public skating, an attendant looks after safety and background music plays.
