Three rinks built with the City and the Groupe Thibault on Sherbrooke's École du Triolet campus
The Complexe sportif Thibault GM grew out of a September 2009 agreement between Sherbrooke's school board and the private sector to build a sports complex on the grounds of École secondaire du Triolet. Construction, a project with the Groupe Thibault and the City of Sherbrooke, began in the summer of 2010, to carry on the sport-études program the school had run since 1988.
Two of its rinks are 200 by 85 feet, the size of a National Hockey League sheet, and a third, smaller rink measures 90 by 48 feet. The Cadillac rink takes the big events, and its 699 seats fill for the Tournoi international bantam de Sherbrooke, the Léandre-Cayer school tournament and the games of the Triolet Harfangs. The Chevrolet rink seats 164, and hockey schools use the small GMC rink for skills work.
Besides the school's hockey and figure-skating sport-études programs, the complex is home to the Académie CCM and the Académie Phoenix, and it hosts Patinage Estrie's summer figure-skating camp. Heat recovered from the compressors warms the building, and the ice is resurfaced with electric machines. The Harfangs du Triolet call the complex home.
