A multi-use sports ground with winter ice

Gjøvik stadion, formerly Gjøvik idrettsplass and also known as Plassen, is a multi-use outdoor sports ground in Gjøvik, used for football, athletics, skating and bandy, and in the past for tennis too. The main pitch has an artificial-grass surface with underfloor heating in winter, and the athletics track was given a tartan surface in 1994.

Besides the main pitch the ground has a further eleven-a-side artificial-grass pitch that is iced over in winter, and Bjørgeløkka, a nine-a-side artificial-grass pitch. The artificial ice is used, among others, by Gjøvik skøiteklub.

The stadium is the home ground of the football side Sportsklubben Gjøvik-Lyn, whose main stand was upgraded in 2020, and the athletics club Gjøvik Atletklubb also works from a building on the grounds.
