Two ice halls side by side in Vimpelinlaakso

Kajaani has two ice halls next to each other in Vimpelinlaakso. The original competition hall has a 29 by 60 metre rink with six changing rooms in general use, plus a VIP room, a gym and café spaces that are usually open during games. A new training hall was completed in spring 2019 beside it, with a 56 by 26 metre rink, four changing rooms and two accessible ones, and the competition hall was renovated at the same time.

Public skating costs 5.20 euros, free for children under 7, with a season ticket at 53 euros, and the city's Liiku Kajaanissa wristbands cover the public and free sessions. Skaters can also use the ice outside booked slots, in the empty times, which should be checked with the hall master because the ice is being maintained then. The halls are open 07:00 to 22:00, except Fridays, when they open at 12:00.
