A 60 by 30 m indoor rink at Bandai Atami in Koriyama, home games of the Tohoku Free Blades hockey club
Bandai Atami Ice Arena opened in November 1994 at the Bandai Atami hot-spring resort to promote winter sport. The rink measures 60 by 30 metres, with room for about 216 spectators, and the rink's own page calls it Fukushima's only ice arena. Skaters use it for speed skating, figure skating, short track, hockey and curling. In summer the hall turns to indoor sport, exhibitions and a short July skating season.
The arena has been managed since April 2014 by Xebio Corporate, and it hosts the home games of the Asia League ice hockey club Tohoku Free Blades. The Tsururinko festival of Bandai Atami hot spring is also held here.
Public sessions ask skaters to wear a helmet and gloves, since falls are common, and speed skates are not allowed on the ice.
