Winding ice paths, a learning zone and evening lights at the Okhta Park resort
Currently out of season The Lesnoy Katok page at Okhta Park says the rink is closed until the next season; when open it keeps these hours: Monday to Sunday 11:00-21:00. Official schedule update
Lesnoy Katok is the skating rink of the Okhta Park resort at Mistolovo, set in a pine forest only ten kilometres from Saint Petersburg. Its ice covers more than 5,000 square metres of winding paths.
The paths include a large learning zone fitted with handrails and a space for free master classes. In the evening thousands of coloured lights and garlands are lit and music plays. Artificial cooling keeps the ice in good condition even above freezing, and the rink can be used at temperatures of about plus ten degrees.
There are no timed sessions: visitors come when it suits them during opening hours, and entry to the rink is unlimited. Children aged 14 and under may skate only with an adult and must wear helmets. The page says the rink is closed until the next season.
