Mount Royal's refrigerated rink at Beaver Lake, with rentals on site

Public skating at Lac aux Castors Rink (Parc du Mont-Royal): the next 7 days

Currently out of season The City of Montréal says crews start installing boards on its outdoor rinks in mid-October (4 to 6 weeks of work) and begin flooding only after three consecutive days below -4 °C with under 10 cm of snow, so opening dates depend on the weather; its conditions list shows every outdoor rink as closed (off-season) today. The City's conditions list shows this site's outdoor rinks as closed (Fermé) today, last updated 30 March. Official schedule update

A 2,500 square metre refrigerated rink beside Beaver Lake on Mount Royal

The Lac aux Castors rink is the refrigerated skating surface in Mount Royal Park, which the City of Montréal calls a green jewel known for its large natural spaces, spectacular views and heritage value. The City's guide to where to skate says the rink covers 2,500 square metres and offers a smooth surface, and the park page confirms that this rink is refrigerated.

In winter the park offers the refrigerated rink alongside snowshoe trails and cross-country ski tracks, and the City notes that activities are offered there all year round. Boats, skates, cross-country skis and snowshoes are rented by Les Amis de la montagne in the Beaver Lake area, at the pavilion or the dock depending on the season, and the lake itself is one of the park's sights, with a walk up to the cross nearby.
