A mall rink with instructors on the ice, skating helpers for small children and protective kit for kids
MEGA ICE runs an indoor rink with artificial ice at Aviapark in north-west Moscow, which its site describes as a place to skate in any season and weather. The rink is open to amateurs and athletes every day, and the operator says it has worked since 2006 and that more than 500 people visit its rinks daily.
Visitors are accompanied by instructors on the ice, and children get protective kit. Ice helpers shaped like a seal and a penguin steady the smallest skaters, and the rink has warm changing areas, a cloakroom and separate lockers for valuables.
Moscow law gives certain groups cheaper entry at the weekday mass-skating sessions: disabled children, children from large families, orphans, pensioners, conscripts and war veterans.
Admission, rentals and arrival details, researched from official rink information. Source checks stay current for 30 days.
