Built in 1971 as an outdoor oval and roofed in 2000, the national team's base with a rink for the public
Taereung International Skating Rink, inside the national training village in Nowon-gu, was built in 1971 as a 400 metre outdoor oval for speed skating and converted into an indoor rink in 2000. Korean Wikipedia counts it as the eighth indoor 400 metre rink built in the world, and Seoul City calls it the only indoor 400 metre rink in Korea.
The main rink measures 400 by 14 metres and the auxiliary rink 30 by 61 metres, with seats for 2,700 spectators.
Public skaters use the auxiliary rink when the national team trains and during competitions, and the rink also gives lessons.
The rink closes for the summer, and its home page notice names the reopening day in October, with general public hours from 10:00 to 18:00.
