Home of the Guelph Storm since 2000
The Sleeman Centre is a 4,715-seat arena in downtown Guelph. It opened in September 2000 as the Guelph Sports and Entertainment Centre, built for CA$21 million on the site of the former Eaton’s store. It gave the Ontario Hockey League’s Guelph Storm a home after years in the cramped Guelph Memorial Gardens.
The arena hosted the 2002 Memorial Cup and the 2008 Founders Cup, and in November 2025 the Canadian Hockey League picked it to host the 2027 Memorial Cup. Ahead of that tournament the Storm paid for a multi-year, CA$3 million overhaul of the building. Sleeman Breweries bought the naming rights in June 2007, and the deal was renewed in 2021 to run until June 30, 2030. Beyond hockey, the building has hosted the Dreams on Ice skating show, concerts by The Tragically Hip and Great Big Sea, and the annual Shrine Circus.
