Built in 1966 as the Mountain Arena

Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena & Skating Centre was built in 1966 as the Mountain Arena and carried that name until a 2005 renovation, when it was renamed for Dave Andreychuk, a former hockey player from Hamilton. Andreychuk retired as the NHL’s career leader in power-play goals, with 274, won the Stanley Cup with Tampa Bay in 2004 and entered the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2017.

The building pairs a 2,500-seat hockey arena with a separate figure skating rink. The Ontario Hockey League came twice, briefly, with the Fincups in 1977–78 and the Steelhawks in 1984–85, and the Hamilton Red Wings played here from 1973 to 2015.

Today it is home to the Junior B Hamilton Kilty B’s, who arrived in 2018 when the Ancaster Avalanche moved in and took the name, and to the Hamilton Bengals lacrosse teams. In 2006 the final three episodes of Kraft Hockeyville were shot here.
