Named for coach Pat Quinn, rededicated in 2023
Pat Quinn Parkdale Arena on Main Street East carries the name of the Hamilton-raised player and coach, who started his junior career with the Hamilton Tiger Cubs and the Hamilton Kilty B’s. The rink was rededicated in his name in September 2023, with his brother Barry Quinn helping to announce the ceremony.
Quinn played nine NHL seasons on defence for the Maple Leafs, Canucks and Atlanta Flames, then coached his way to two Stanley Cup Finals, with the Flyers in 1980 and the Canucks in 1994. He led Canada to gold at the 2002 Winter Olympics and entered the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2016.
The City rates the building’s accessibility as medium, with some barriers, and lists a community room alongside the rink.
