Israel's central ice hockey rink, opened in 2013

Ice Peaks hall, in Peres Park in Holon, opened in 2013 with the help of a group of Jewish donors from several countries. Its 900 square metre ice sheet was built with German technology and sits inside an 1,800 square metre insulated tent, with seats for 240 spectators and a similar number of standing places.

Until the hall was built, Canada Centre in Metula was the only place in Israel where ice hockey could be played. The Israeli federation approved the hall for league games even before it opened, although the rink is smaller than the international standard, so teams play with four skaters and a goalkeeper instead of five. It became the central home of the Israeli league, and the 2013/14 championship final was played here, the first held outside Canada Centre and the first Israeli hockey game shown live on television, on Channel 9.

In July 2013 the US team trained here ahead of the 19th Maccabiah, and the 2014 Israeli figure skating championships were held in the hall. In April 2018 an agreement was signed with the company that runs the complex to build an Olympic-size rink next door.
