Reopened as the Community First Igloo in June 2023
The Community First Igloo is the renovated rink previously known as Skate World and the Jacksonville Ice & Sportsplex. Earlier, the building was the home arena of the Jacksonville Bullets, owned by Jacksonville Ice owner Bob Sabourin, and later a training and alternate venue for the SPHL's Jacksonville Barracudas. Zawyer Sports & Entertainment bought the facility and started an extensive renovation in August 2021; the official grand opening followed in June 2023 with the Jacksonville Icemen, Community First Credit Union and the City of Jacksonville.
The rebuilt building has two NHL-regulation sheets and houses the Jacksonville Sports Hall of Fame. It is the practice home of the ECHL's Jacksonville Icemen and the home rink of the First Coast Figure Skating Club; the University of Florida Gators club hockey team has played here too. The USPHL awarded Jacksonville a junior franchise, the Bold City Battalion, on February 1, 2023, and that month Ryan Bradley, a U.S. World Team member in 2007, 2010 and 2011, joined the figure skating coaching staff.
In 2025 the Igloo became the official host of the AAU National Hockey Tournaments. In March 2026 the 16U AA Jr. Icemen won the Youth Hockey National Tournament, the first in the program's history, and in August 2026 the First Coast Classic was selected for the 2026-27 National Qualifying Series.
