Jamestown's two-arena Winter Sports Building

The Winter Sports Building holds two regulation hockey arenas, John L. Wilson Arena and Eagles Arena, run by Jamestown Parks and Recreation. Eagles Arena sits on a sand floor and Wilson Arena on concrete, and from September through April the two sheets carry hockey, figure skating, youth games and tournaments, the annual Ice Show, public indoor walking and public skating.

Both arenas are home ice for the Jamestown Blue Jay and Prowl Hockey, the University of Jamestown Jimmies hockey teams and the James River Figure Skating Club. The Jimmies' ACHA Division 1 men's team opened its 2025-26 season at Wilson Arena with a 6-1 win over the University of Colorado. A synthetic shooting area in the northwest corner of Eagles Arena is open for stickhandling practice whenever the building is open.
