Two ice arenas, a six-sheet curling rink and a walking track; home of the SJHL Kindersley Klippers
Loading public skate, freestyle, and stick & puck times for West Central Events Centre…
The West Central Events Centre holds two ice arenas, the Co-op Arena and the Events Centre, along with a six-sheet curling rink and an indoor walking track, and its ice is in from August through April. An older arena that was part of the complex, Exhibition Stadium, burned on January 8, 2010, and that winter's provincial Scotties moved to Eston.
The centre is home to Kindersley Minor Sports, Kindersley Sledge, the Kindersley Red Lions and the Iron Horse Kindersley Klippers of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. The Klippers began as the Saskatoon Titans; in 2004 they won the league's Membercare Cup and then their first Anavet Cup, in a seventh game against the Selkirk Steelers.
The WCEC was the first arena in Saskatchewan set up to be fully accessible for sledge hockey. It also hosts concerts, trade shows, rodeos and large tournaments, among them the 2014 World Junior A Challenge, and a second-floor lounge looks over the ice.
