Home rink of the Knoxville Figure Skating Club
Cool Sports is Knoxville's indoor ice and turf building: one NHL-sized ice surface under the same roof as a 180 by 80 indoor turf field and a smaller 135 by 65 turf field.
Figure skating and hockey share the sheet. Cool Sports runs the only U.S. Figure Skating program in the area and is the home rink of the Knoxville Figure Skating Club. Its theatre-on-ice group, the Smoky Mountain Ice Theatre, was founded in 2019 and has performed at Knoxville Ice Bears hockey games, the Birmingham Ice Gala and competitions. On the hockey side, the Knoxville Amateur Hockey Association is the official youth hockey association for Cool Sports and its youth hockey programming.
The leagues have changed hands. Cool Sports once ran its own adult leagues; the Knoxville Adult Hockey League was built from the legacy of those former leagues, is guided by the original Players Committee and is run entirely by volunteers to carry on Knoxville's 20-year tradition of adult recreational hockey. The youth Rec Hockey League likewise moved its registrations and administration to KAHA, while games and practices still take place at Cool Sports.
