Lethbridge's Adams Ice Centre, renamed for Logan Boulet in 2019
The Logan Boulet Arena is the north-side Lethbridge rink that was the Adams Ice Centre, listed in the Galt Museum's arena history as dating from 1960. In October 2019 the city officially changed its name to honour Logan Boulet, the Humboldt Broncos player who died in the team's bus crash in April 2018. His father said the arena was where Logan started playing little kids hockey.
Boulet had decided to become an organ donor, which meant six people would benefit and more than 200,000 Canadians would register as donors. City council unanimously approved the name change on April 1, and several hundred people gathered outside the arena on the day it was made official.
After the outdoor ceremony, the Boulet family took part in a ceremonial puck drop for a midget AAA game against the Knights of Columbus Pats from Edmonton. A Logan Boulet display case in the arena foyer is a permanent fixture.
