Opened in 2019 as part of the River City Renaissance Project, home of the North Iowa Bulls and Toros
Mason City Arena opened in 2019 as the largest entertainment venue in North Iowa. Part of the River City Renaissance Project, the former JC Penney store was transformed into a year-round venue for ice sports, athletic competitions, concerts and tradeshows, and it has also hosted MMA events, graduations and National Night Out.
The arena has fixed seating for 2,058 for ice events and 4,200 for non-ice events, with large-screen displays for close-up viewing. It is home to the North Iowa Bulls NAHL team, the Mason City Toros NA3HL team, Mason City Youth Hockey, the Mohawk High School hockey team and the North Iowa Figure Skating Association.
Public skate is a crowd favorite for all ages and abilities, where skaters can lace up their own skates or rent a pair. Four permanent concession stands around the arena sell grab-and-go food.
