An Olympic-size rink with 1,100 seats, home to national figure skating champions and a 300-player hockey club
Currently out of season The centre's opening-hours page says, in Hebrew, 'Dear customers, the centre is still closed to visitors. Opening soon...' and gives no opening date. The same page still carries the hours of the Sukkot holiday of 2023. Checked on 5 October 2026. Official schedule update
The Canada Centre in Metula is an Olympic-size rink with 1,100 seats, which its operators call Israel's leading one, inside one of the largest sports centres in the north of the country.
Figure skating is its highlight. After the success of the Maccabiah games a figure skating class opened under Tanya Stolin, a coach with 30 years of experience, and skaters trained under her reached the highest levels in Europe. Many of Israel's best skaters began on this ice, and national figure skating champions have trained and grown up there.
Ice hockey is played on the same ice. Maccabi Tze'irei Metula, a club in the Israeli hockey league with about 300 players, has done most of its training on the home rink, and its youth teams draw players from the Upper Galilee and the Golan Heights.
