New Hope's two-rink city arena with 2,200 stadium seats, home ice for Armstrong/Cooper hockey.
The New Hope Ice Arena has two rinks, each a standard 200 by 85 feet with four public locker rooms. The north rink has stadium seating for 2,200, the south rink seats 1,000, and from September through mid-March adults can use the building's indoor walking track on weekday mornings at no charge.
It is home ice for Armstrong Cooper Youth Hockey, the Armstrong/Cooper boys and girls high school teams and Upper Midwest High School Elite. The city's skating school, based on the Ice Sports Industry recreational program, teaches skaters from age 3 to adult on the south rink.
The city has leaned on the community to keep the building going: in 2008 the New Hope City Council established the New Hope Ice Arena Endowment Fund so individuals and businesses could help pay for capital improvements at the arena.
