Two NHL-size rinks in Antioch, opened in 2014 as the first of three Ford Ice Centers in Middle Tennessee.
Ford Ice Center Antioch opened on August 19, 2014, to high school practices and public skating, with its grand opening on September 12 alongside the Predators Rookie Tournament. It was the first of what are now three Ford Ice Centers, joined by Bellevue in 2019 and Clarksville in 2023. The Predators chose a former retail site in Antioch for their first regional rink, broke ground with Metro's Sports Authority on October 9, 2013, and built it with the city as a public-private partnership for about $15 million.
The 90,000-square-foot building holds two NHL-size rinks and 2,500 square feet of off-ice training space. Scott Hamilton founded the Scott Hamilton Skating Academy here with the Predators, and the Scott Hamilton Skating Club still counts Antioch as one of its two home rinks, holding test sessions and exhibitions and a Holiday Ice Show every season since 2015. Little Preds Learn to Play started in Antioch and had reached 2,249 athletes by September 2024.
The teaching side changed on May 27, 2025, when TPH Nashville and Nashville Skating Academy took over the figure-skating programming Ford Ice Center had run at Antioch and Bellevue. Nashville Skating Academy, which Laura Holzman started in 2005, now runs freestyle ice at Antioch through the week, while the Hamilton name carries on through the club.
