A new seasonal rink beneath the Giant Guitar scoreboard from Nashville's Greer Stadium
Currently out of season The Rink Under the Giant Guitar's page says the new seasonal rink will be open to the public daily from November 20 to January 18; the press page gives the dates as November 20, 2026 to January 18, 2027. Official schedule update
The Rink Under the Giant Guitar is a new seasonal rink in Wedgewood Houston, set up beneath the neighborhood's landmark Giant Guitar. It runs from late November into January, with extra programming expected, including music and movie nights.
The guitar comes from Herschel Greer Stadium, which opened in 1978 as home to the Nashville Sounds and hosted nearly 3,000 games before closing in 2019. Before the 1993 season the team installed a 53-foot tall, 116-foot-wide guitar-shaped scoreboard in the outfield; it arrived weighing nearly 36,000 pounds.
Today the guitar stands over The Outfield, an acre of green space behind Nashville Warehouse Co. at Chestnut and 4th, with a bandshell facing the lawn. Studio Delger, Jarvis Signs and I Saw the Sign reimagined it, and the scoreboard now sits above 14 shipping containers painted to resemble the original stadium advertisements.
