A covered, just-under-1000-square-metre real-ice rink at the Norfolk Showground
Currently out of season Winter Wonderland Norwich opens at the Norfolk Showground on 20 November 2026 and runs to 3 January 2027, with a covered real-ice rink. In November it opens from Friday to Sunday only (20 to 22 and 27 to 29 November), then every day from 1 December except Christmas Day; tickets are booked through See Tickets. Official schedule update
Winter Wonderland Norwich puts an ice rink measuring just under 1000 square metres of real ice at the heart of the event, housed beneath a clear-span cover and lit by thousands of twinkling lights for an all-weather skate. The event has been creating winter memories for Norwich since 2021, and entry to the site is free for 2026/27.
It is held at the Norfolk Showground, home of the Royal Norfolk Show, which has been held almost every year since 1847. Up until 1953 the show moved between sites around Norfolk, before settling at a permanent site near Costessey, Norwich. It usually takes place on the Wednesday and Thursday of week 26 of the year, drawing around 90,000 visitors over the two days, and no show was held in 1866, 1911, 1934, 1957, 2020 or 2021.
