Perth's newest and largest ice skating facility, by Bibra Lake
Cockburn Ice Arena describes itself as Perth's newest and largest ice skating facility, overlooking Bibra Lake as the latest addition to the Progress Drive recreational precinct. Rink 1 is an Olympic-sized 60 m by 30 m sheet used for general skating sessions and some ice sports training and curling, and it also houses a 150 square metre dance studio with sprung flooring and a 10 m ballet barre.
Ice hockey is played in Rink 2, a 60 m by 28 m sheet, all year round, with games usually on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. Perth Inferno and the IHWA Premiere League play at the arena, and the Cabin 401 Bar & Grill looks onto the hockey rink. The mySKATE pro shop beside reception is the biggest in Western Australia.
