An 800 m2 rink in Rabat set up with a French rink specialist
Rabat's patinoire has 800 square metres of ice and is described by its operator as unique in Morocco. It was set up with the know-how of Oxform, a French company that designs, builds and manages ice rinks, which gave the operator the means to develop ice sports in the country for the first time.
A skating school teaches skaters of all ages and levels with qualified coaches, and its training formulas run from one hour of lessons a week for beginners to three or four hours for the competition group. The Moroccan Ice Sports Association, the ASGM, has been a member of the International Skating Union since 2011.
Alongside the public sessions, the rink runs a Jardin des glaces on weekends, a play area where young beginners skate with their parents under a qualified coach, ice karting on Friday nights and children's birthday parties.
