Home of the ECHL's Florida Everblades since 1998

Hertz Arena opened in November 1998 as Everblades Arena, named for the ECHL hockey team that plays there, and the Florida Everblades still call the building home. It is a 7,084-seat multi-purpose arena in Estero, outside Fort Myers.

The name has changed with each naming-rights deal. TECO Energy was the first company to buy the rights, making it TECO Arena; Germain Motor Company bought them next, and in 2004 the venue became Germain Arena. The Hertz Corporation acquired the rights in September 2018 and the building was renamed Hertz Arena on October 1 of that year, after which the company petitioned the city to repaint the arena bright yellow with black accents to match its branding. In August 2019 the Hoffmann family agreed to purchase both the arena and the hockey team.

College hockey shares the ice: the Florida Gulf Coast University Eagles club team of the American Collegiate Hockey Association calls the arena home, and the building hosted the ACHA Division 3 national championships in March 2006 and March 2010 and the Division 2 championships in March 2008. Inside, the arena has LED lighting, luxury seating, video boards and a VIP lounge. On March 9, 2022, it staged its first televised wrestling event, All Elite Wrestling's Dynamite and Rampage tapings.
