Wenatchee's arena, home of the Wild
Town Toyota Center is a 4,300-seat multi-purpose arena built, owned and managed by the Wenatchee Public Facilities District. During planning and early construction it was known as the Greater Wenatchee Regional Events Center, until a local auto dealer bought the naming rights in August 2008.
Its finances made headlines. On December 1, 2011, the arena went into default when the district missed a payment on short-term bond anticipation notes, the largest public default in Washington since the WPPSS disaster of 1982.
The arena is home to the Wenatchee Wild of the Western Hockey League, and it was previously home to the Wenatchee Wolves, the Wenatchee Valley Venom and Skyhawks arena football teams and the semi-pro Wenatchee Bighorns basketball team. Its events have included High School Musical: The Ice Tour in 2008, Stars On Ice in 2012 and 2014, and the Harlem Globetrotters on several visits from 2011 to 2024.
