Opened on Aberdeen beach front in 1992

Plans for an ice rink at Aberdeen beach were approved on 4 December 1986 and again on 20 March 1989, and the building went up on an early 20th-century landfill. Linx Ice Arena opened on 1 February 1992 and was refurbished in 2017.

It is a recognised Skate UK Learn to Skate facility, open seven days a week, and it can seat over 1,000 visitors during games, events and tournaments. The venue is home to a number of local Aberdeen ice hockey teams and ice skating clubs.

The Aberdeen Linx Ice Skating Club is based here, and the rink hosts figure skating, synchronised skating and three ice hockey clubs. Hockey For All was introduced in Aberdeen for people over 16 who had an interest in ice hockey but no opportunity to join a league playing team.
