Twin NHL-size rinks inside a LEED Silver recreation centre

The Meadows Arena is the twin-arena wing of The Meadows Community Recreation Centre in southeast Edmonton, a 234,419-square-foot building set within the Meadows District Park. The centre earned LEED Silver certification, and it provides indoor and outdoor recreation for people of all ages and abilities.

Both sheets are NHL size, 200 by 85 feet. The West rink is named Dick Whyte and seats 250; the East rink is named Hockey Canada and seats 500. Safety netting protects the viewing area, and each rink has four dressing rooms with six showers apiece. Beyond the ice, the centre has a large lobby area and an outdoor public skating rink.

Drop-in use follows the City of Edmonton's arenas schedule, which for Fall 2026 lists public skating and shinny hockey among the drop-in programs.
