The 1908 family bath on the Dahme becomes a 1,000 m² winter world with real ice
The Strandbad Grünau on the Dahme dates from 1908 and was Berlin's first family bath, opening the era of the city's open-air baths. During the 1936 Olympic summer games, visitors watched the world's best rowers on the historic regatta course beside it.
Each winter the bath becomes the Winterwelt Grünau. Its 1,000 square metre rink has real ice, joined by two big winter huts: one for winter dishes and hot drinks, the other turning into an après-ski party hut on Saturdays. Ice-stock lanes, an indoor play world and an outdoor playground belong to the programme, and the rink and both play areas are free with admission. Fridays and Saturdays bring a skate disco with a live DJ, and on Saturdays the party hut has a DJ of its own.
