Hungary's first twin-rink hall
Designed by the Finta Stúdió and finished in 2003, the Vasas Jégcentrum was Hungary's first sports facility with two ice rinks. Each of the two international-size surfaces covers 1,800 square metres; the main rink has a stand for 2,000 people and the training rink has a long gallery along one side.
Planning began in 2001 and the hall opened in 2003. It is the home of the Vasas HC hockey team and has staged national-team matches such as Hungary against Norway in 2009, a four-nations tournament in 2013 with Poland, Romania and Ukraine, and the 2019 women's Division I world championship, which Hungary won.
The 2024 Hungarian cup final was played here too, and the hall is also known as Jégpalota, Budapesti Icecenter, Káposztásmegyeri Jégcsarnok and AstraZeneca Jégcsarnok.
